Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) provides services to both adults entering or re-entering the workforce and students in high school, who have a disability, who are trying to determine their long term career path. VRS also works with businesses to meet their staffing needs. Connecting the two is the integral part of employment.
An example of this is a chain of convenient stores that has a wonderful partnership with VRS. They shared that they were looking to have someone whose job was to keep the store clean. The created a position available to VRS job candidates to do those cleaning tasks. Locally, VRS has helped placed at least a dozen job candidates in this position with almost no turnover!!

The Hwy 30 Career Fair in Tama was a huge success — thanks to YOU!

More than 45 job seekers came through the doors, connecting with 13 fantastic employers and tapping into the power of the IowaWORKS Mobile Unit. From printing résumés to applying for jobs on the spot, people were making moves and finding real opportunities.
