Region 6 Resource Partners / People Rides objectives are to improve the lives of the citizens within the four county area, while being good stewards of the organizations resources. Region 6 Planning Commission provides member communities with professional services in the areas of comprehensive planning, access to federal and state transportation funding, housing assistance, public transit services

Transportation grant funding is now available! Local governments and partners can now apply for FY2027-FY2030 federal transportation funding. $10.8 million in Surface Transportation funds are available, and $645,000 in Transportation Alternatives funds are available. Funds can support road, bridge, and Farm-to-Market improvements, trails, safe routes to schools, and more. Deadline to apply is March 13. Visit our website for more information. The bones of this historic downtown building are full of character—and soon, they’ll be home to two beautiful new housing units right above the Princess Café. The Iowa Bicycle Coalition has released results from its statewide Economic & Health Impact Study, and the numbers are impressive. Recreational cycling now contributes $1.4 billion annually to Iowa’s economy, with every county seeing benefits from trail use and bike tourism.
