It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Lions Club Past International Director Del Brown. PID Del was instrumental in founding Iowa KidSight and we are forever grateful for his leadership and dedication to the vision health of Iowa’s youngest children. His commitment to Iowa KidSight leaves a lasting legacy for many families. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.

From the Iowa City Lions Club…

Delmar “Del” Brown, 88, passed away on May 20, 2026 at his residence.

The Madrid Lions hosted the Boone County Lions Meeting on April 21, at the Iowa Arboretum. President Ben Hershey welcomed everyone to the Zone event.
Lion Ray Ortmann organized the BBQ chicken dinner like we do for Labor Day.

The guest speaker was Donald Lewis who is a past president of the Arboretum Board and continues to serve on the board. Donald gave a great presentation on the history and happenings of the Treehouse Village. After his presentation he took the group across the road to visit the Village.
The District Governor and his wife Kathy, were there in attendance.
