🚨 Public Assistance Requested 🚨

The Marshfield Police Department is seeking information regarding a leaving-the-scene motor vehicle accident that occurred August 8th, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m.

The incident occurred in the 1300 block of West Washington. The vehicle is described as a light-colored Chevrolet Equinox, based on a vehicle part that was left on scene, it was determined to be off of a 2010–2017 model. The vehicle should have front end damage from mid center to the passenger side and should be missing the passenger side inside wheel-well plastic liner from striking a mailbox and a golf cart before fleeing the scene.

Marshfield Police has had several people reach out referencing yesterday's heavy police presence in the area of Taco Bell and in the residential area behind the shopping plaza.

First thing, there was no threat to our community.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Spur Drive by Taco Bell. Two individuals immediately fled on foot from the traffic stop, MSHP requested an assist agency from the Marshfield Police Department. MPD officers responded to the area to assist in the foot pursuit/fleeing suspects. The search lasted for almost an hour and a half, both suspects fled through residential backyards, they were later found lying down in the soybean fields off I-44. It was determined that both individuals were illegal aliens with prior criminal histories after speaking with an ICE officer.

We appreciate the citizens that reached out in support of our officers' efforts and were concerned about their physical well-being during this incident and offering to supply hydration due to the heat and physical activity exerted.

ICE reached out to me personally and wanted to thank our department for their assistance apprehending the suspects. I also want to personally thank all our officers for always going above and beyond for serving and protecting our community!
