At every hour of the day, in communities across Wisconsin, EMS professionals stand ready. From rural highways to city streets, from the first 911 call to the moment care is delivered, they bring skill, compassion, and steady leadership to some of life’s most critical moments.

Every call tells a story such as a patient stabilized, a family reassured, a community supported when it matters most. These moments may not always make headlines, but they shape outcomes and change lives.

Marshfield Fire and Rescue would like to say Thank You to all of the EMS agencies in our service area and beyond for helping us make a positive impact in people’s lives. When seconds matter, we come together as one to care for the sick and injured.

We are proud of all of our EMS clinicians for the work that they do to serve our community and it’s visitors. Happy EMS Week to our members and all of our neighboring agencies!

On Wednesday, May 13th at 1:00 PM, Columbus Catholic High School will be hosting a mock crash simulation for students.

This educational demonstration is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving and to encourage safe decision-making behind the wheel.

During the event, community members may notice emergency vehicles, law enforcement, fire/EMS personnel, helicopters, towing equipment, and staged crash-related activity on the school campus. Please be advised this is ONLY a simulation and there is no real emergency.

We are incredibly grateful for the partnership and support from our local organizations helping make this important learning experience possible for students.

This combined effort includes:
• Sanford Health Marshfield Clinic Trauma Department
• Columbus Catholic High School
• Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department
• Marshfield Police Department
• Wood County Coroner's Office
• Nieman’s Towing & Recovery
• Life Link III

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to promote safe driving habits and help protect our community’s young drivers.

The Wood County Communication Center has confirmed that the issue affecting radio signaling to the Marshfield storm sirens has been corrected.

The sirens were briefly tested at noon today, and we confirmed they are operating properly in multiple locations throughout the city.

City of Marshfield Provides Update on Outdoor Warning Siren System

The City of Marshfield continues to work with the Wood County Communications Department to resolve an issue affecting the outdoor weather warning siren system.

While this issue is being addressed, residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for the Wood County Everbridge Notification System to receive emergency alerts related to severe weather and other urgent situations.

Residents can register at:

The Everbridge system provides timely and reliable emergency notifications and is an important tool, especially when the outdoor warning siren system is malfunctioning.

The City is working to have the issue corrected as soon as possible and is hopeful the system will be restored before severe weather moves into the area later today.

The City appreciates the public’s patience and encourages all residents to have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and emergency information.

City of Marshfield Issues Notice Regarding Outdoor Warning Sirens

The City of Marshfield is advising residents that the City’s outdoor warning siren system is currently not operational due to a technical issue with the radio system used to communicate with the sirens.

Prior to the first round of storms on Monday evening, April 13, 2026, it was brought to the City’s attention that one Marshfield storm siren was not working. A service request was initiated for that location, and an initial evaluation found the siren equipment to be in proper working order.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the City was notified again that testing at that same location had failed. A more in-depth review was then conducted throughout the City of Marshfield, and Wood County performed multiple attempts to test the siren system. During that process, it was determined that none of the outdoor warning sirens were sounding.

The City has been in contact with Wood County Emergency Management and the Wood County Communications Center, which are actively working to identify and resolve the technical issue. At this time, there is no estimated timeline for the system's restoration.
