During this incredibly difficult time for our Sheriff’s Office family, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our community.

The prayers, messages, meals, and acts of kindness you have shown have meant more than words can express. Our deputy, who was injured, is now home and healing, and we truly believe your continued support and prayers have played a part in his strength and recovery. He was determined to get out of the hospital in time for the funeral, and he kept his word.

While we are thankful for healing, our hearts remain heavy as we honor and remember Christian County Deputies Gabriel Ramirez, and Michael Hislope, who tragically lost their lives. Their service, bravery, and dedication will never be forgotten. Also, we pray for continued healing for Deputy Josh Wahl during his recovery.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for surrounding our deputies and their families with love, support, and unwavering faith during this time. Your kindness reminds us why we are proud to serve this community every single day.

We, as the Webster County Sheriff's Office, have remained relatively quiet trying to focus on being a support role to Christian County and Stone County during this challenging time. However, in response to the overwhelming amount of inquiries and messages of support, we want to give an update on our local Hero Deputy McCall. He has recovered from his 3rd surgery and we are hopeful he will be released in time to attend the funerals of our other fallen Heros from Christian County.
Almost half of our Deputies responded to Stone County, so we ask that you remain patient during longer response times for the next week or so as we finish the task at hand.
We are absolutely aware of the risk and potential consequences but we want our citizens to know it has always been, and will always continue to be our policy that if any law enforcement agency in the area is in need of our help, we will answer the call and be there to the best of our ability. We love you and we appreciate your patience and support during these trying times.
Below is a short unedited video interview with KY3 that gives an update on Deputy Austin McCall.
Please pray for the families of Deputy Ramirez and Deputy Hislope and everyone else affected by this tragic event.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of the situation involving one of its Deputies and a use of force concern.

It is not only the responsibility of our Office to police the public, it is also our responsibility to hold ourselves accountable to that public.

While we cannot openly discuss HR issues, we would like to let our citizens know action has been taken to correct any wrongdoing.

🚨 WINTER STORM ADVISORY 🚨

The Webster County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to use extreme caution as an incoming winter storm is expected to impact our area.

Snow, ice, and dangerously low temperatures may create hazardous road conditions and reduce visibility. We strongly encourage residents to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary. If you must be on the roads, please slow down, increase following distance, and ensure your vehicle is properly prepared.

If you find yourself in a non-emergency situation due to the storm, such as becoming stuck or needing assistance, please contact our non-emergency dispatch line at 417-859-3911, and a deputy will respond as soon as possible. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911.

Please check on elderly neighbors, make sure pets are brought indoors, and have emergency supplies available in case of power outages.

Our deputies will be actively monitoring conditions and responding as needed, but your safety starts with smart decisions. Staying off the roads helps keep you safe and allows emergency responders to assist those who truly need it.

We will continue to provide updates as conditions change. Stay safe and stay warm.
