Summer, a time for outdoor activities! Don’t forget about the potential for severe weather, which can lead to power outages. If you’re outdoors when the weather takes a turn, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reminds us, “see a flash, dash inside,” and “when thunder roars, go indoors.”

Once it’s safe, remember to report any outages or downed lines to us by calling 417-859-2216.

🌞 Summer setup tip: Before placing fire pits, patio furniture, tents, or string lights, take a look up—and around. Keep all outdoor setups a safe distance from overhead power lines to prevent hazards or outages.

If you notice a line hanging lower than usual, don’t try to handle it yourself—give us a call so we can take a look and keep your summer safe.
