**Township of Cameron Fire Press Release**
On February 27, 2025 at approximately 1:35pm, Wood County Communications Center dispatched Township of Cameron Fire Department and Town of Lincoln Fire Dept. for a report of a propane truck that was leaking propane at 9563 State Highway 10 in the Township of Cameron. Once on scene we were able to confirm there was nothing on fire, driver was not injured and the truck was off the roadway and in a private property parking lot. A perimeter was established, electricity to the local area was removed, homes in the close proximity were evacuated, and roads were closed in all directions for public safety concerns. Additional resources were brought in to ensure safety of the community and of the firefighters for this dangerous environment. Assistance from Richfield Rural Fire Dept., Hewitt Area Volunteer Fire Department, Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department, Wood County Sheriff, Wood County Emergency Management, Wood County Highway Department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources were requested and we are extremely grateful for our wonderful partnerships in the county that assisted. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation during this unfortunate incident. The cause of the leak remains under investigation and no further information will be released at this time. Lets all be thankful for this windy day to blow away that rotten egg odor! 😁
Stay Safe!
