Happy Thanksgiving from your local fire department! We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday. Please remember to drive safe today if you are traveling. If you’re at home cooking, make sure you keep an eye on your stove, grill, and all other appliances to ensure that you have no incidents. Keep any and all flammable materials from your heat sources. Make sure your smoke detectors work as well. Please stay safe and don’t be afraid to call 911 for any emergency during the holidays.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

It’s that time of year where we all like to have a nice cozy fire, maybe a couple of candles going, or maybe just a gas or electric heater. Make sure your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms have fresh batteries and that they work. These detectors and alarms are built specially to save lives. Where should you have them? Bedrooms, kitchens, hallways, etc. Don’t have any? Message us or call your local fire department. We are more than welcome to help you out. Message us today!

To all those celebrating tonight, please keep safety in mind. Do not shoot fireworks at anyone or around any vehicles or buildings. Make sure you have a flat clear area. Do not let children light off any and make sure a responsible adult is present. Please do not drink and drive tonight.

Happy Independence Day to everyone from your local fire department. Be safe and have fun!

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house. Not a creature was stirring not even… a volunteer firefighter! Here at Martin Fire we want to wish all of our firefighters and first responders a very Merry Christmas and we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas too! We hope you get to spend this wonderful evening with family and friends and fill it with love. Please wish all firefighters, EMTs, law enforcement, and our military that are serving on Christmas a Merry Christmas and thank them for their sacrifice this year. “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” That’s right it’s Christmas time. And you know what comes with Christmas time? Beautiful Christmas lights, Christmas trees, and decorations! The Town of Martin once again has put countless time into decorating Downtown Martin with beautiful Christmas lights that the whole family will enjoy. Make sure to drive down Historic Hwy 17 one evening and see this amazing scenery. Thank you Town of Martin for your hard work and dedication to making such a beautiful Christmas season this year!

It’s Christmas time and you know what that means! It’s time to put up the Christmas tree if you haven’t already! This is the most beautiful time of the year with all the houses decorated in lights and the trees lit up and decorated. If you have a live tree this year, make sure to keep it watered every day. If you don’t it can dry up and that is one of the leading causes to house fires this time of year. Also, candles are a great way to make it smell like the holiday season, but when you leave make sure you blow the candles out. Candles are in the top 5 causes of house fires year round.
