The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is committed to partnering with the UTM community to ensure an accessible university experience for students with disabilities by removing or minimizing barriers. We engage in disability education, advance the concepts of universal design and promote disability as a component of diversity to increase inclusion on campus. The University of Tennessee provides
reasonable accommodations (academic adjustments and auxiliary aids) to ensure equal access to educational content and university programs for students with disabilities. Any student eligible for and requesting accommodations due to a disability must provide instructors with a letter of accommodation from Disability Services. What We Do
The Office of Disability Services provides accommodations and services to students with documented disabilities. These disabilities can include, but are not limited to:
* cognitive disabilities
* learning disabilities
* attention deficit disorders
* traumatic brain injury),
* mental/emotional disorders,
* seizure disorders,
* autism,
* sensory disorders,
* mobility impairments, and
* other physical or health impairments. Through an interactive process between the student and ODS staff, student's eligibility for accommodations will be determined following a review of their reasonable documentation. ODS staff will work to ensure appropriate accommodations are in place in order for the student to have equal access to the University's resources and academic programs. Additionally, we serve to educate the University community about the kinds of practices and processes that will allow students, parents, and community members to feel welcomed and included with the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin.
