Historic Martin is A Group of Businesses and Citizens Working Together with Small, Steady Steps for Positive Changes in our Community. "It wasn't about being important,

or being the boss or being in charge. It was around the energy. People were able to give up their self-interest and do whatever it took to get the job done." (Martin Cowart). Today, we have the challenge of restoring a foundation of our Downtown’s history. We have the unique opportunity of developing an area that our entire area, not just Martin, can come together for a unique shopping and entertaining experience. This will take focus, planning, flexibility and resilience.

A well-deserved retirement celebration was held today for Martin Police Department Captain Eric Reed. 🎉

After 29 years of dedicated service, Captain Reed is retiring from law enforcement.

Originally from Paris and a graduate of UT Martin, Captain Reed began his career with the Greenfield Police Department before joining the Martin Police Department, where he spent nearly three decades serving the community.

Congratulations and thank you, Captain Reed, for your many years of service! 👮‍♂️👏

I think an event where both candidates can express their views about Martin’s future is a positive movement and I look forward to such an event.

Transparency matters, and our citizens deserve straight answers. I’m ready to have that conversation—whether it's about preserving our historic downtown, strengthening our local economy, or moving Martin forward as one.

As we head toward the November election, I want to personally invite you to join us for a Meet and Greet. This will be a wonderful opportunity to talk face-to-face about the future of Martin.

Whether you want to discuss fiscal responsibility, protecting our historic downtown, or bringing more transparency to City Hall, I want to hear your ideas and answer your questions directly.

I hope you can drop by, bring a neighbor, and let's talk about how we can move Martin forward together.

After nearly 50 years of calling Martin home, I am officially launching my campaign for Mayor of Martin with a few core insights about me:

• Martin is where I was raised, where I raised my family, and where I built my business; I want to do what I can to make OUR community succeed.

• I feel so strongly about Martin’s success that if elected, I am pledging to donate the Mayor’s salary back to the City of Martin.

• My goal is for Martin to be competitive to regional salaries for city and public safety employees.

•With my business experience, I plan on bringing real-world financial discipline to City Hall.

• Whether I am working shoulder to shoulder with the community or with our city employees, my goal is straightforward- let’s address Martin’s needs and achieve practical results.

• If elected, I plan on running my office the same way I live my daily life- guided by the Golden Rule and grounded in integrity.

• Let’s Move Martin Forward—Vote David Bell for Mayor!
