It's been just over a year since the library opened its doors and the results have been amazing! However, people in our community have many needs that the library can serve only with additional funding. The Martin Public Library Foundation is offering people who love the library and their community the opportunity to enable extraordinary things through the "BE A LIBRARY CHAMPION" campaign. Visit www.martinpubliclibrary.org/library-support to make your tax-deductible donation and become a "Library Champion" today!

Connie and Robert Alewine, Martin natives and owners of Alewine Pottery in Gatlinburg, recently donated the second of three pots to Martin Public Library. The first pot, seen sitting on the shelf behind the Alewines, contains a likeness of Martin's first library located in what is now Virginia Weldon Park. The second pot, held by Mr. Alewine, contains a likeness of the C. E. Weldon Public Library. The third pot is scheduled to be delivered by the end of the year and will complete the set. It will contain a representation of the new Martin Public Library. The complete set of pots will be housed in the Tennessee History Room on the second floor of the library.

Library Foundation President Larry Snider said, "These pots preserve a part of Martin's past and present and they are especially meaningful because they are made possible by Martin natives, Connie and Robert Alewine."
