Thanks to everyone for all the support this Christmas season!! Here are the Christmas gifts being delivered and some picked up for the residents 😍 We were able to provide many gifts to several nursing homes for the residents to enjoy. We also had some great help from some wonderful volunteers from a local high school to help pack some of the bags. Thanks so much for all the support these past 17 years!!!

We hate to make this post but the time has come to let you all know that we have made the hard decision to close our doors. We will be closing up for good at the end of the year. We are so thankful for the past 17 years that we have been able to serve our community and the many nursing home residents throughout the CSRA. We are also so grateful for all the support we have had throughout the years from our wonderful community!! We LOVE you all!!

As one final hoorah before we leave, we would like to provide the MOST Christmas gifts we have ever given to the residents in the nursing homes this year!! We want to collect as many items as possible to make their Christmas Merry!!! We hope you all can help to make this dream a reality. We are in desperate need of the items below to get these bags together. If you are unable to shop, you can also make a donation and we will do the shopping for you. Again we thank you ALL for your support!!! ❤️❤️

We have decided to do our $1.00 SALE every 1st Wednesday of the month!! So our first one will be NEXT Wednesday, October 4th. We hope to see you all there!!

If you have left over yarn or know of someone who does, our volunteer who is 91 years old needs more to keep her busy crocheting afghans for the nursing home residents. Your donations are tax deductible. You can drop it off at our office, Monday thru Thursday between 10am-4pm. Thanks so much!!!

The activity director came by and picked out their outfits from our store. We love supplying all that we can to our local nursing homes and of course seeing the smiles on their faces 😊

Imagine sitting in a room, staring out the window and wondering when someone was going to come visit with you?. Or wondering how nice it would be to have some nice lotion for your really dry skin, or some nice new clothes so that you could get out of your hospital gown. These are just some of the thoughts that residents inside a nursing home may feel if they have no family or friends to provide for them. When HELP Can't Wait was started 16 years ago by our wonderful founder Helen McVicker. She noticed while working in the nursing homes that there were so many residents who simply had to do without if they had no family to help provide for them. So she researched and found that there was no other organization anywhere that provided for nursing home residents. So in January of 2007, she created WHCW and began the service of enriching the lives of nursing home residents by providing them with basic necessity items and much more. WHCW provides anything from basic toiletry items such as deodorant, body wash, lotions, etc. to activity items such as word seek puzzle books, coloring books, crayons, painting supplies, etc. as well as entertainment items such as music players, tv's, cd's, dvd's, etc. We also have had many volunteers throughout the years who have visited with residents, played games and assisted in activities with residents, as well as taking mobile clothes closets, jewelry parties, birthday parties and much much more. We have been able to continue this very needed mission for the last 16 years thanks to the many generous donors we have had. Those donations have kept us going and allowed us to serve thousands of residents through the years. We haven't posted in a while but we are continuing to serve our nursing home residents. Below is a picture of one of our activity directors picking up items for the residents, also a Valentine's sweetheart party at the nursing home where the residents won a gift basket provided by WHCW and then one of our volunteers visiting the residents with her sweet pups. We are in desperate need of some new VOLUNTEERS to visit with our residents and do special events in the homes. Since Covid we lost most of our previous Volunteers and need to build them back up since the homes are getting back to normal.
