While the deadline for football may have passed, we are still registering (until the end of this week) 6, 7 and 8 year old kids for our Fall Co-ed Coach Pitch baseball!! Sign up and play Tuesday and Thursday nights under the lights at beautiful Southside Park!! We are in room 201 of the Municipal Building at 55 W. Church St., or you can call 276-403-5067.

Calling all coach pitch ballers!! If you played in the YMCA Spring League or in Henry County's Spring Fun League, here's your chance to play a little Fall Ball under the lights!! Boys and girls from any school in M-HC Ages 6 thru 8. If your child is only 5 years old and has maybe played a season of T-Ball, bring them on as well. Deadline to register is fast approaching (Aug. 21st)!

How about football players?? We've got flag football for 7 and 8 year olds. (age as of Oct. 1)
We've got Junior Tackle for ages 9 and 10 and Senior Tackle for ages 11 and 12. Football is for city residents or kids that are enrolled in city schools. (All others register at HCPR)

Got a young lady hooper?? We've got Junior girl's basketball for ages 8-10 and Senior girl's basketball for ages 11-13. These teams are also for city residents or city school kids. (All others register at HCPR)

REGISTER ONLINE at martinsville-va.gov/fallsports or in person at Room 201 in the Municipal Building at 55 W. Church Street in Uptown Martinsville. The $10 participation fee will be collected by the coaches at the first practices.

*****Football and Girl's Basketball - we will do our very best to form city only teams that will play within Henry County's leagues. If, by chance, we don't get enough to form our own teams, your child can still be placed on a team in Henry County. Since the football and basketball teams are playing within the county's league, copies of your child's birth certificate will be required.

The deadline to be placed on a team is August 21, 2026. Please submit this form, and bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate (if we don’t already have one on file), to room 201 of the Municipal Building uptown at 55 W. Church Street. DO NOT return this form to the participant’s school. ....

If these old basketball goals could talk!! Man, some seriously good hoopers have played here over the years. Who is the best playground baller you ever saw or played with at the City Park?? As a kid that grew up literally just down the hill from the park, a few that come to mind for me are JoJo Holt, MonkMan, James Hunt and Stacy Clark.
