Today, we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜

We remember the lives lost to overdose, stand alongside the families, friends, and communities impacted by substance use, and celebrate the lives that have been saved through recovery, support, and access to lifesaving resources.

Overdose can happen to anyone, and knowing how to respond can save a life. Naloxone is a safe, lifesaving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose when administered in time.

At Piedmont Community Services, we believe every life is worth saving and that recovery is possible. Together, we can reduce stigma, increase awareness, and help connect our community to the support it needs.

During the Martinsville Mustangs’ final home game Friday night, Autos By Nelson presented a $500 donation to the Resilience and Hope Coalition of Piedmont Community Services.

The coalition provides su***de prevention and mental health awareness resources throughout the region.

Anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or concerned about someone else can call or text 988 at any time to connect with a trained crisis counselor.
