🌡️ Hot and muggy conditions are forecast over the next few days. Understanding your body's warning signs is critical to staying safe in extreme heat.

⚠️ Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, headache, and cool, clammy skin.

🚨 Heat Stroke: High body temperature, confusion, altered mental state, hot skin, or loss of consciousness. Heat stroke is a medical emergency—call 911 immediately.

Stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in air-conditioned spaces, and check on family, friends, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

While we do not know how much rain we have gotten however it has been a lot. The County Highway Department has reported that there is water over some of the secondary roads in the southern part of the county. Please be aware of this issue. Do not drive through flood waters. As the saying goes, turn around and not drown!

you may have less than 2 minutes to escape a home fire before conditions become deadly? Home fire sprinklers can control or extinguish a fire in about 1.5 minutes, helping protect lives, homes, and firefighters.

🔔 Deaf Awareness Week 🔔

Smoke alarms save lives but only if you can hear them. For individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, specialized smoke alarms can make all the difference.

These devices use strobe lights, bed shakers, and low-frequency sounds to ensure you’re alerted in an emergency day or night.

✅ Install alarms designed for your needs
✅ Test them regularly
✅ Make sure everyone in your home knows your fire escape plan

Everyone deserves an early warning. Make sure your home is protected. 🏠🔥
