Update to Saturday nights homicide incident:

As of 9/2/2026, Levi Camplin is still a person of interest. He has not been located. If you believe you may have spotted him, do NOT approach. Notify 911 immediately. Camplin is still considered to be armed and dangerous.

We understand the concern our community has and we will continue to be as transparent as possible while still upholding the integrity of this investigation. Once Camplin is located, news agencies as well as our social media will accurately reflect it. Please know our department, Detectives, and Morgan County Major Crimes Task Force are working tirelessly to locate him. 🚨 HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – INFORMATION REQUESTED 🚨

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Martinsville Police Department and Morgan County Major Crimes Task Force with a homicide investigation stemming from an incident that occurred late Saturday night, August 29, 2026, in Martinsville.

Investigators are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Levi Camplin, 24, who is being sought as a person of interest in connection with this investigation.

Anyone who may have information regarding Camplin’s whereabouts or information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office or the Martinsville Police Department (765-342-5544).

🚨🚨🚨If you believe you have spotted Levi or his vehicle, described as a yellow pick up with a black tailgate, DO NOT APPROACH. Levi is considered to be armed and dangerous. Please call 911 immediately. 🚨🚨🚨

The graphic attached is a potential flood inundation experimental map developed by NWS. This can be used to see potential inundation for the river flooding. The link is posted in the comments so that you can zoom in and see specific roads within the inundation maps.

Morgan County EMA - Indiana is hard at work monitoring the flood waters. According to local news stations the crest of the floods should be close to entering Morgan County. Don’t wait until it’s unmanageable before leaving low lying areas. Being overly cautious is never a bad idea when it comes to protecting yourself from dangers! As always, don’t hesitate to call if you need us.

1:40 pm 8/18/26 Waverly Park Rd REOPENED

4:30 pm 8/17/26 Lingle Rd and Vickery Rd and South side of SR 67 have water of roadway.

BIG HURRICANE REOPENED 11:30 pm 8/16/23 - Big Hurricane Rd in the 5900 block is also closed. BIG HURRICANE REOPENED

7:30 pm 8/16/26 - Paragon Rd is closed

1:00 pm 8/16/26 - Gray Rd is closed

8:00 am 8/16/26 - Blue Bluff Rd flood gate is now closed

Waverly Park Rd and Smokey Row Rd are now closed in addition to the area of Centenary Rd near Centenary Ln

As of 6 pm, 8/15/26, Centenary Rd in the area of Centenary Ln is closed due to water in roadway.
