Our last field trip for the summer was Horseback riding at Grandpa Jeff's Trail rides. Our youth voted it as the best trip of the summer. After the trail ride we returned to the Haven for Ice Cream Sundaes.

Look for Haven staff to be at Open Houses with registration forms for our after-school program beginning August 6th. This is a free program open to 5th - 8th grade students.

The Haven youth had a great afternoon at Burkhart Part despite heat, humidity and a 10 minute down pour. Playing on the playground, hiking and wading or sitting in the creek were enjoyed. Can you see a fish or crawdad amongst the pictures.

Our summer program is almost finished. One more week to go. This week the youth have been engaged in making marshmallow catapults, putting together puzzles, making origami stars, talking with friends, and playing the Wii.

The Franklin Skate Club was a perfect place to be on a hot day. We had two youth who had never been roller skated and they made it around the rink at least once. Some of our younger skaters were pro's and helped the older youth get started. Fun was had by all as they enjoyed a Pizza snack and then popsicles when they got back to the Haven. Enjoy the pictures.

This week at the Haven we are having FUN playing games that have to do with July 4th. Today we played Pictionary with youth drawing and guessing which things had to do with July 4th. Gage was the winner having drawn a picture which represented a marching band. It must have been good because it was named in 3 seconds.

We had a great time at the Indy Indians baseball game yesterday. Thanks to Ann for driving us and Nancy for helping. These ladies are fantastic. We had to leave after the 6th inning, however there were no more runs after we left. The Indians won 8 to 6 because of 3 homeruns during the 6 innings we witnessed!!! Go Indians.

You Got A Friend was evident as Youth and staff had a great time together at Rascals Fun Zone Friday. Race cars, spinning bumper cars, water bumper cars ,Put, Put Golf, arcade games ,, & Pizza were enjoyed by all

Friday Haven youth went to Jimmy Nash Park to swim, jump off the diving board, ride the water slide, and have fun splashing each other in the water. Ending their week of Food, Food, Food they were treated to snacks from the snack shack.. There is still time to sign up for summer fun at The Haven Youth Center. Our theme this week is Food, Food, Food. Youth talked about what went into trail mix and why the ingredients were important to hikers. Then they filled bags with their own version of trail mix to munch on during the week.
The piano has always been a favorite. This year a beginner is teaching others how to play.
We are delighted we have grass to play on.
We hope to see more students in the 7 weeks ahead take advantage of this free summer program which runs 1 to 5pm Monday through Friday.
