Mary Esther Public Library

Mary Esther Public Library A proud member of the Okaloosa County Public Library Cooperative! We support lifelong learning for all residents. Welcome to the Mary Esther Public Library!

As part of the Okaloosa County Public Library Cooperative the Library extends free services to the entire county population. We are a 6,000 square foot library serving Okaloosa County and the over 4,000 Mary Esther City residents and many visitors to our beautiful region. The library has 10 public internet computers, and 3 children's computers. Visitors and out-of-county patrons are charged a mode

rate fee to register a card and circulate materials but they may use our in-house materials such as WIFI and computers for free. Through the library the city of Mary Esther is supporting lifelong learning for all of it's residents. Children's programming is offered for babies and toddlers through middle grade students. Adult programming is offered for all adults and is primarily book clubs, arts and crafts, and relaxing through coloring. The non-fiction collection is particularly strong in cookbooks and biographies and the fiction collection is strong in mysteries and current popular authors. The library’s catalog (readokaloosa.org) provides access to all six Okaloosa Cooperative library collections. Electronic information resources are expanding to meet the needs of the entire community.

We had a great time during Mike Thomin's Tales from the Trowel event! He read from his book Luna the Cat (co-authored with Nicole Grinnan) and talked about the Pensacola shipwreck and site that inspired the tale!
You can check out the book from us here https://readokaloosa.org/Record/235458

We had the biggest Summer Reading Kickoff we've had in years. 271 residents and library patrons joined us for our Foam and Bubbles Party with Beachside Bubbles! We enjoyed crafts, snacks, games, and contests.
Everyone picked up their reading logs and event calendars for the Summer Reading adventure (You can sign up here: https://okaloosa.librarycalendar.com/events/list?program_types%5B174%5D=174&branches%5B100%5D=100&branches%5B180%5D=180 )

We were floored by the participation and enthusiasm! Huge thanks to the Mary Esther library staff and volunteers and our amazing sponsors and supporters, including these partners:

"Beat the Summer Slide with Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park and Mary Esther Public Library!"
The summer slide is the learning regression students experience between grades, but we have a SOLUTION!
We're giving away 12 passes to Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park and all you have to do is register for our raffle here https://forms.gle/CZRurjBBTXaX8TtZ9 and submit your reading logs at the library to earn more raffle entrees!

At the City of Mary Esther Library, we create fun activities to motivate students to continue reading and learning throughout the summer.

Here's the list of ALL our Summer Reading events:
