Over the last few weekends, Members of Maryland Line Volunteer Fire Company have participated in a company drivers training program. This in-house program has those members that drive our Apparatus engage in Classroom learning/discussions and a Driving Course.

The classroom portion of the training had members reviewing safe driving techniques for Emergency Apparatus Drivers as well as reviewing internal SOP’s & Baltimore County Fire Department SOP’s for Accidents involving Apparatus both owned by MLVFC and the use of BCoFD Reserve Apparatus.

The driving course included a diminishing clearance, serpentine and an alley dock scenarios.

We are excited to share the improved ISO Rating for Baltimore County. This is a HUGE undertaking from multiple assets over the years to acquire such an impressive rating!

As for much of Baltimore County is Non-Hydranted the Baltimore County Fire Department works countless hours with the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association member companies and Baltimore County Volunteer Water Resource Committee to come up with the data, timed scenarios and improved water resources. Which all together improved the rating in the non hydranted areas. Well done!

We’re proud to announce that Baltimore County has earned an improved ISO Public Protection Classification, moving from a 3/6 rating to an impressive 2/5 rating thanks to initiatives implemented over the past several years! 🎊

This achievement reflects the strength of our fire protection capabilities and our continued commitment to serving the community at the highest level. Residents and businesses may also benefit through increased confidence in emergency services and the potential for lower insurance premiums.

This accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication and collaboration of our members, Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association, Baltimore County Volunteer Water Resource Committee, Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation, and the 911 Center.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this possible!

***While you were sleeping***

At 0225 this morning crews from the surrounding area responded to the 21600blk of Middletown Road for a Structure Fire in our first due. Crews arrived to fire on the second floor. Fire was extinguished quickly and crews cleared around 0400hrs.

All occupants were able to escape without injury, this was made possible by Working Smoke Detectors!!

Since our incorporation in 1940 Maryland Line Volunteer Fire Company has depended on our communities support financially to allow us to serve you each an every day.

The community is the backbone of our volunteer fire company from the members to you supporting our annual fund drive, attending our events and your gracious donations.

As you’ve seen, Seagrave has started building our New Engine Tanker. With raising costs on apparatus, we are still asking for your help with our Capital Fundraising Campaign to help fund this 1.2 Million Dollar Fire Engine. This Engine Tanker will replace our current tanker and the engine we sold a few years ago. So we will have the capabilities we did previously with having two fire engines along with the large water capabilities with it having 2,500 gallons of water. This unit will have the latest and greatest features to better protect our members along with equipment to better serve them and our community.

We have many ways you can donate towards our Capital Campaign, scan the code below to donate via our PayPal link, Fill the Boot fund drive at any of our events or mail us a donation. We are a 501C3 Non-Profit Organization as well.
