After morning storms move off to the east, we'll see temperatures increase for the afternoon. We'll then have to watch for some isolated evening severe storms across eastern KS. As we head into the work week, the warmth will stick around. A few low rain and storm chances each day, but overall it looks drier than this last weekend.

Today continues the stormy pattern, with several more rounds of showers and thunderstorms. A few of these storms may be strong to severe, especially with a line of storms that will move northeast into central Kansas this evening.

05/29/2026

Scattered showers and storms are forecast to remain over the area through Saturday. We look to get a break from the rain for Sunday and Monday as temperatures warm up into the upper 80s and around 90.

05/29/2026

Scattered showers continue today but should gradually taper off. Warming up through the weekend as we begin to see some more sunshine, though some shower and storm chances linger each day.

05/28/2026

Scattered showers and storms move from south to north across the area today through Friday. Rain chances continue into the weekend, but there will be some dry time in between periods of rain, so it won't be a washout. High temperatures are in the 70s to low 80s today and Friday, warming up slightly this weekend.

🚧 πŸ›€οΈ Railroad Crossing Closure! πŸ›€οΈ 🚧

The crossing located on the south edge of Winifred at 18th and Pheasant Roads will be CLOSED starting tomorrow at 6:30am until Sunday depending on the rain.

We are aware of the Wanklyn Oil celebration and have been in contact with them directly! We would like to urge the public planning on attending (and it sounds like it's going to be a great time!) to travel in from 99 Highway, and not from the south on 18th Road.

If anything changes, we will do our best to keep folks updated!

05/27/2026

While there are daily chances for rain through the weekend, there will be plenty of dry time mixed in as well. Highest chances for showers and storms come Thursday into Friday. Temperatures hold steady with highs mainly in the 80s.

Got home tonight and realized my video didn't post! So here it is, your Weekly Update! With an extra dose of corny jokes!

05/26/2026

Another warm and dry day today before the pattern becomes more unsettled. Low chances for showers/storms return on Wednesday with higher chances coming Thursday and Friday. It won't be a washout, but waves of precipitation could impact the area through the end of the week. Severe weather is unlikely.
