As the National Weather Service has canceled the Severe Thunderstorm Warning and the 911 Center (Sheriff’s Office) and our agency have not received any other reports, the sirens are done being activated.
While the NWS did not issue an actual tornado warning, officials felt it necessary to set off the sirens to error on the side of caution. Seconds matter in these situations. Thank you to all for your understanding.
As a reminder when Severe Weather such as thunderstorms are present it can change in a hurry, be weather aware and ready to take action if needed.

Due to a reported spotting of a tornado in Woodstock to the Champaign Co Sheriff Office the tornado sirens in Union County have been activated. The National Weather Service at this time has not issued an official warning for Union County.
