I was honored to attend today’s Change of Command Ceremony for the 9th Reconnaissance Wing at Beale Air Force Base.

Thank you to Col. Keegan McCleese for his dedicated leadership and service, and congratulations to Col. Geoff Cameron as he assumes command of this critical mission.

We are grateful to the airmen and families who serve our nation with excellence every day.

Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremonial oath of office for California's First Congressional District.

D.C. is cool and all, but what really matters are the people here in the North State. I am truly humbled that you have entrusted me to represent you in Congress.

A special thank you is in order for the staff, volunteers, and speakers who made this event possible. I would also be remiss if I didn't thank Jill LaMalfa, who administered the oath of office today. Her grace, faith, and quiet strength over the last six months have been an inspiration to many.

I am ready to get to work for you all!

One of the best moments last week was when we gathered with the Speaker after the swearing in and I offered to pray for him. My family and I then prayed for Speaker Johnson: that God would bless his leadership and that God would give us wisdom and insight to govern righteously and deliver for our people. A powerful moment. We cannot do this on own strength. Our Founders understood this and nothing has changed. We need God’s guidance. As Ben Franklin once quoted: “Unless God build the house, they labor in vain who build it.”

First day on the job, and we're already getting results.

Yesterday, my first vote in Congress helped pass a measure to crack down on fraud in the student financial aid system. Today, we're advancing a resolution to root out fraud, waste, and abuse across the federal government.

Taxpayer dollars should go to the people who need them, not fraudsters and bureaucrats. That's exactly what we're fighting for. 🇺🇸💪
