This event brings together law enforcement and community members to raise awareness and support for athletes with intellectual disabilities. We are honored to take part in such a meaningful tradition that promotes inclusion, perseverance, and community spirit.

The Probation Department was proud to participate in Career Day at McKenney Intermediate School!

Our team had a great time connecting with students, sharing information about careers in probation and public service, and discussing the many ways we work to support youth, families, and community safety. Students learned about the different roles within the department, the importance of mentorship and accountability, and the educational paths that can lead to careers in criminal justice and social services.

Thank you to the staff and students at McKenney for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to inspire future leaders and professionals. We appreciate the thoughtful questions, enthusiasm, and engagement from everyone who participated!

Happy National Corrections Officer Week!

This week Supervisors and Management from the Department cooked breakfast for our Juvenile Corrections Officers in honor of National Corrections Officer Week. This just a small gesture to show them how much their hard work, exemplary character, and dedication is appreciated. The most important asset of our department is its employees, and we are lucky to have these amazing people working at our Youth Rehabilitation Campus.

We would also like to thank the Sutter County Probation Department for sending over a basket of goodies for the JCOs, it was greatly appreciated.

Please join us in congratulating Juvenile Corrections Officer Liliana Sandoval-Diaz, Deputy Probation Officer Collin Thao, and Juvenile Corrections Officer Adrian Leyva on their completion of the JCO to DPO Core Course offered here at Yuba County Probation. Over the last two months they have completed over 70 hours of classes about the multitude of roles and responsibilities a deputy probation officer needs to perform. The hard work and dedication they have exhibited over the last few months is truly exemplary! Congratulations Liliana, Collin, and Adrian!

Please join us in congratulating our 2025 Officer of the Year, Anthony Alvarado.

Anthony began working with our department as an Extra Help JCO in July 2015, promoting to full-time JCO in February 2016. In August 2016, Anthony was promoted to Deputy Probation Officer, and in July 2021, he was promoted to Senior Deputy Probation Officer. Anthony has held various positions within both the juvenile and adult units, as well as becoming a certified trainer in defensive tactics.

Chosen by his peers, Anthony is described as dependable, knowledgeable, welcoming, and someone who consistently maintains a positive attitude. This recognition highlights Anthony’s leadership, dedication, teamwork, and a strong commitment to both his profession and his family.

Thank you, Anthony, for the positive impact you continue to have on our community and throughout our department. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.
