🚧Construction Update: Enhancing West 5th Street 🚧
Starting Monday, June 15, crews are expected to continue working on the new center median island on West 5th St (near the Wendy’s/Vision development)!

🚘Detour Information
To get this job done safely and quickly, we need to shift traffic patterns:

-Impact: Eastbound West 5th St will be closed at the construction site.
-Detour: Eastbound traffic will be rerouted through the Green Pastures development (south on Damascus Rd then east on Emmaus Rd).
-Duration: This detour is expected to last for two weeks.

This island is more than an aesthetic upgrade, it is a key part of our commitment to safety, serving two major purposes:

-Traffic Calming: Naturally slowing down traffic in this busy area.

-Pedestrian Safety: Providing a much-needed "refuge" for residents crossing to and from Legion Park and the Pool.

We appreciate your patience as we work to make our streets safer and more beautiful for everyone. Please drive slowly through the detour and keep an eye out for crews!

We love seeing our community come together for Friday Night Uptown! 🎸🍔

To make sure these events remain safe and enjoyable for everyone—from toddlers to grandparents—we want to focus on prevention and keeping our youth on the right track. Lately, we’ve seen an increase in disruptive behavior from some unattended juveniles. While we want our teens to have a great time, please remember that this is a community-wide celebration where proper, respectful behavior is expected from all attendees.

How you can help: If your child is heading Uptown, please have a quick, proactive conversation with them about making good choices, respecting others, and representing their family and community well.

Who wants a chance at some free ice cream?🚲

Our officers gave these kids tickets for wearing their helmets!
Yes, you read that right!
This summer, we will be giving out tickets, good for a small cone at Dairy Queen, to young riders who are following traffic laws, riding safely and wearing a helmet!
