The Union County Veterans Service Office is a team of professionals whose primary goal is to serve Union County's veterans,spouses,dependents, and/or survivors in all matters pertaining to veterans benefits, and to promote our services to the veterans and citizens of Union County, Ohio. The three basic mandates of all county Veteran Service Offices per Ohio Revised Code 5901 include the following:



a. Provide emergency and temporary financial assistance to eligible veterans and their spouses and family. Assist in the preparation and submittal of claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on behalf of the veteran or living spouse of the deceased veteran. c.Transport veterans to the VA medical facilities and VA-referred medical facilities.

The 7th Annual Honor Flight at Home will be held this year on Saturday, June 6, at TriRivers Vocational School in Marion. This program, affiliated with Honor Flight Columbus, is designed to honor veterans who cannot travel to Washington, D.C., to see their memorials. Any veteran in the state of Ohio who qualifies and can travel to Marion may attend. Public Notice – Special Meeting

The Union County Veterans Service Commission will hold a Special Meeting on April 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Union County Veterans Service Office for the purpose of conducting interviews for the Veterans Service Officer (VSO) position.

The Commission may enter into executive session to consider the appointment or employment of a public employee, specifically to conduct interviews.

No final action will be taken.

Serving veterans and their families with financial assistance, VA benefits help, and transportation services.
