The Linda Fire Protection District is proud to announce that we officially took possession today of our brand-new BME Type 3 fire engine, Engine 263!
This addition to our fleet was made possible in part through the support of Measure K, which continues to provide critical funding for the equipment and resources needed to protect our growing community.
Engine 263 will be stationed in Plumas Lake, strengthening our ability to respond to wildland fires and other emergencies throughout our district. This new apparatus represents a significant investment in the safety and preparedness of our community.
We are excited to put Engine 263 into service and look forward to having it proudly serve the residents of the Linda Fire Protection District for years to come!

Linda Fire Protection District and City of Marysville Fire Department Complete Merger to Strengthen Regional Fire and Emergency Services

Yuba County, CA – The Linda Fire Protection District (LFPD) and the City of Marysville Fire Department (MFD) are proud to announce the official completion of their merger, creating a unified fire and emergency services agency that will enhance public safety and improve service delivery across the region.

Effective July 1, 2026, the City of Marysville Fire Department has been fully annexed into the Linda Fire Protection District. This consolidation marks a significant step forward in regional collaboration, resource sharing, and long-term sustainability for fire protection and emergency response services.

This merger strengthens our ability to protect the community; by combining our personnel, equipment, and operational resources, we are better positioned to provide efficient, consistent, and high‑quality emergency services to residents across Linda and Marysville.

The unified agency will operate under the Linda Fire Protection District name and governance structure. All fire stations, personnel, and equipment previously belonging to the City of Marysville Fire Department will transition to LFPD. The merger is expected to improve response times, eliminate administrative redundancies, enhance firefighter training and staffing levels, and support long-term financial stability.

This partnership reflects years of planning and collaboration. The benefits are clear: stronger fire protection, better use of taxpayer dollars, and a more resilient emergency response system for the entire region.

Residents will not experience any interruption in services. Emergency response operations will continue seamlessly, and community members will see improved coverage and expanded capabilities as the unified department moves forward.

🇺🇸🎆 4th of July Safety Reminder from Linda Fire Protection District 🎆🇺🇸

As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we ask everyone to do their part to keep our community safe.

Only Safe and Sane fireworks are legal and permitted. Illegal fireworks are not only against the law, but they also pose a serious risk to lives, property, pets, and our first responders.

Every year, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS personnel spend the entire night responding to fires, injuries, and other emergencies caused by illegal fireworks. What may seem like a few minutes of fun can quickly turn into a life-changing tragedy.

Before lighting any fireworks, please remember:
🔥 Illegal fireworks can start devastating fires.
🚑 Fireworks-related injuries can happen in an instant.
🐶 Loud explosions can cause extreme stress for pets and wildlife.
🚒 Emergency resources are diverted from other critical calls when preventable incidents occur.

This Independence Day, celebrate responsibly, be considerate of your neighbors, and help us keep our communities safe!

The Linda Fire Protection District would like to congratulate Eddie Bolton on his retirement as a volunteer Firefighter after 28 years of service! Eddie has been a dedicated member and advocate for volunteers. Eddie has always been a top participant with LFPD including long nights and busy weekends. Although Eddie is retiring from suppression duties, Eddie has agreed to remain engaged in a support role. Please congratulate Eddie and thank him for his years of service!

🚒🔥 Fill the Boot Drive is TODAY! 🔥🚒

The Linda Fireman’s Association is out in the community today, Saturday 3/28, collecting donations for the Firefighters Burn Institute during our annual Fill the Boot drive!

Our firefighters will be stationed at the intersection of North Beale Rd and Feather River Blvd. with boots in hand, raising funds to support burn survivors, prevention education, and recovery programs. Every dollar makes a difference and goes toward helping those in need.

Last year, thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised a record-breaking $17,000—and this year, we’re aiming even higher.

If you see us out there, please consider stopping by and dropping a donation in the boot — or even just giving a wave 👋

Firefighters Burn Institute is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded by Sacramento Fire Captain Cliff Haskell and the Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522 in 1973, for the purpose of establishing a local burn treatment facility; providing recovery programs for burn survivors; providing fire and burn prevention through public education; funding education for burn team professionals, firefighters, and burn survivors; and supporting burn treatment and rehabilitation research.”
