We thank you for 75 years of service Yuba-Sutter Veterans Service
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here at Yuba-Sutter Veterans Service, we’re all about honoring those who have answered the call to serve our country. We are proud to highlight some of our Yuba County colleagues at Yuba County Health & Human Services as we celebrate our 75th anniversary of assisting veterans and their families

09/28/2021

This year, Yuba-Sutter Veterans Services is celebrating its 75th year supporting local veterans and their families!

Today, Veterans' Service Officer Marvin King presented challenge coins to the Board of Supervisors to show appreciation for their support of the department.

If you are, or know a veteran, point them in the direction of VSO, where they can get support for services they may not even know about!

The following letter regarding COVID-19 vaccinations was released today by the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa Medical Society:

Dear Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties,

We are your medical providers. You have honored us by entrusting your lives to us, as well as the lives of your loved ones. We are also your neighbors, your friends, and your relatives. We share with you a deep love of this region and of our communities. Like you, we dream of a safe, COVID-19 free future. Please get vaccinated. We ask this out of our sincere concern for you. As your medical providers, and as the people with whom you have worked, played, laughed, and cried, we must admit that we are tired. We are tired of the suffering, pain, and death that can be avoided by getting vaccinated. We have studied the data, and we have seen the benefits of the vaccination with our own eyes.
The vaccines are well-tested, very safe, and highly effective. Yes, masking must continue, especially with the highly contagious Delta variant, but nothing is as important as being fully vaccinated. You've trusted us with every other aspect of your health, please trust us with this. We have been immunized and have encouraged our family members to do the same, we are not asking you to do anything that we have not already done. Please, for the sake of our community: the young, the old, and all the in- betweens, get vaccinated.

Sincerely,

From the veteran stand down Facebook:

STAND DOWN 2021 CANCELLED
Due to various circumstances related to the current Covid epidemic, unfortunately we are having to cancel Stand Down 2021.
This comes as a blow to all involved, but without the services offered by VA, and other providers that are unable to participate, we are not be able to make available the most essential services that make a Stand Down.
To the Veterans who are in need of services at this time, we encourage you to come by the Stand Down office or contact your local Veterans Service Officer. We will do our best to support your needs or refer you to the appropriate agency.
To the Service Providers and Volunteers who were willing to come out and make Stand Down a success, we thank you and hope that you will continue to support the Stand Down and join us for the 2022 event.
Please share this information with your colleagues, friends and family members.
For more information, please call the Stand Down office at (530) 749-1036, or send an email to [email protected].

Yuba College Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic happening until 12pm today!
SHARE with low income individuals and families. This is a super deal available from all internet companies in areas with broadband service in California!
Why have Educators not been updated on the tier? We have heard "Dr Lou is waiting for directive" The virus does not know birthdays. Everyone wants schools open but they're willing to send teachers in their 50s back to the classroom without protection.
Yuba County Health Dept: β€œThe state also recommends the postponement or cancellation of smaller gatherings held in crowded auditoriums, rooms or other venues where those attending are consistently within six fee of each other.” Not sure why they are not closing schools in this district considering most nearby districts have decided to close. What’s the difference? Kids, although not prone to getting adversely affected by COVID19, can still pass that on to another child that may visit their elderly grandparents or someone with underlying health issues. Just sayin’.
