As of June 1, 2026, changes to CalFresh work requirements have taken effect.

If you are an Able-Bodied Adult Without Dependents, you may have 3 months (after applying or renewing) to meet work or community engagement requirements—unless you qualify for an exemption.

To stay eligible, you can participate in up to 20 hours per week (80 hours per month) of activities such as:
• Paid employment
• Volunteer or community service
• Job training or educational programs
• A combination of the above

Some adult Medi-Cal members may see changes to dental coverage starting July 1, 2026.

If you are 19 or older and may be affected, now is a good time to use your dental benefits for a check-up or other recommended care. 🦷✨Emergency dental services will still be covered.

Because of the new changes to CalFresh starting on June 1 - New adult applicants without dependents, and those renewing benefits, will have 3 months to either qualify for an exemption OR meet work or community engagement requirements.

You may qualify for an exemption if you:
• Are under 18 or over 64
• Care for a child under 14
• Are pregnant or have a disability
• Care for someone who is sick or disabled
• Are experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or addiction

💡 If you qualify for an exemption, you may not need to meet work/community requirements to keep your benefits.

We’re sharing this community event on behalf of our partners at California Love, California Strong and Move Your Body, Calm Your Mind!

Join them on Friday, May 29 from 3:00–6:00 PM at Street Soccer USA in Sacramento for an afternoon focused on connection, movement, mindfulness, and community wellness. Activities will include soccer, yoga, dance, community service opportunities, a free resource fair, music by DJ Lady-Sha, family activities, and a complimentary meal.

This free event is designed to bring together community members, local leadership, and state partners to support physical and mental well-being for Californians of all ages. Gates open at 2:00 PM and programming begins at 3:00 PM.
