ANNOUNCEMENT: I will not be running for Congress in 2020. This was not an easy decision because there is much that needs to be done and many ideas that need to be heard. But in light of recent events I’ve realized that I need to take care of my family and establish myself for the future. I do intend to run in future elections. Although I will not be campaigning this year, I will still be incredibly active in the community to fight for necessary progressive reforms.

I’m currently engaged with two great organizations (Wolf-PAC and Whole WA) that are pushing for healthcare and campaign finance reform. If these are issues you want to solve, and you live in Washington State, please reach out to me and we can get you involved.

To my thousands of brave voters, we must be warriors now. I want to thank you for everything you have given me, but our fight continues. It is up to us to keep pressure, and continue to make moves in the right direction. We will have our chance to bring about the reforms we need to combat the many major crises facing our communities; we will fight for universal healthcare, universal education, universal housing, universal voting rights, and universal environmental rights. Stay true, and stay safe.

Americans are Paying the MOST for Housing!

One of the largest problems the younger generations are facing is the exceedingly high cost of housing. Back in the 70's an Americans spent about 25% of their income on housing. Today projections show that families are spending over 58% of their income on housing. With housing so expensive it's no wonder why most Americans go into bankruptcy after a medical incident, why most Americans cannot afford a $400 emergency, and so on. My campaign is fighting for better investment in PUBLIC HOUSING! It's time for a revolution in the way we live and how we build our communities.

Free and Fair Elections Legislation is Ready for Support!

House Bill: HJM4004 (Comment on Bill)
Senate BillL SJM8002 (Comment on Bill)

We are fighting for a chance to solve the issue of Campaign Finance, and the existence of "dark money", corporate person-hood and many other flaws by adding a constitutional amendment to publicly finance elections. With this we can cut out "dark money" at its source. We are doing this using the "people's method" of an Article V limited convention. An Article V limited convention happens when 2/3's of the States in America pass this legislation in their their State Government. Support for movements like this are growing, and it's because people recognize an effective, grass-roots, logical solution to real problems they have. Legislation like this allows a rare moment where everyone can come together around a serious issue and fight for a practical way to solve it.

The Most Ridiculous Presidential Address of All Time!

There is no real statistic that shows immigration is a negative influence on American society. In fact, evidence shows immigrants are less likely to commit any form of crime compared to domestic citizens. Immigrants contribute more to our economy than the top 1%, and pay more taxes. This address is absolutely scapegoating the issues brought on by the wealthy and the powerful. Immigrants are not taking our jobs, they are not bringing crime, they are not sending jobs overseas, they are not controlling the banks, they are not denying our healthcare, they are not raising the price of education, they are not preventing the raise of the minimum wage.

This is not the address of a true American President, this is the address of a Fox News and old-world elite.

The Recount is Final!

Hey everyone, the Recount is official. We managed to capture a few more votes, but not enough to move forward with the Primary! Thank you all for your support!

There are many things happening in the next two years that will require our attention. I intend to fight again in 2020, but until then, there are still many initiatives and legislative bills that need our help to pass. I will release a video recapping the election and talking about our next step forward!

There is a change in the tide of American politics. This is not the same country it was in 2000 or in 2016, common sense, logical politics are the way of the future, but it is up to us to make it happen. We Need to Support WA Teachers!

For a while many teachers across the state have been protesting against threats to cuts in their wages and benefits. At a time when poverty is the fastest growing economic status, how can we cut one of the most important sectors of our economy, of our future? We need to make sure we are in-touch with members of our school board and stand in support of living wages and full benefits for all of our teachers, PreK-PHD.

Our schools are already being crippled with too-large class sizes, teachers having to pay for school supplies, lack of funding for extra-curricular programs, teachers missing overtime pay, wages so low teachers are having to get 1-2 other jobs, and much more. We really need to make a statement about what we want out of our future generations. This should be our number one government investment, not bullets and bombs. If sacrifices need to be made, those are the places we need to be cutting, not our teachers and members of our schools.

In earnest, all teachers should receive a minimum starting salary of 55K-60K a year with full government benefits. Not only that, but we need to add Teachers Assistants for any class over 12 students. We simply need to start supporting our teachers, coaches, and other educational faculties.

Recount Date is Set: 9/4/2018

For those who are interested in the recount, set your calendars for September 4th 2018, because that is when the recount is scheduled to be finalized.

When talking with the County Auditors it seems there were hundreds of votes that were uncounted due to a lack of verification from a missing signature. Unfortunately they are unable to be opened or counted, but it would be interesting to see how many of these uncounted votes would have swung our way, especially with the fact that many of our voters were first-time voters. This race was a close one, but it may have been much closer than we realize.

I will keep you all posted. Aside from the election, there are many other incredible things that are happening in our local politics so stay tuned and spread word to your friends. We Can Get Money Out of Politics in WA Now!

PLEASE READ: We have a chance to get money out of politics at the state level, right now! Wolf-PAC is a Progressive organization created by CEO Cenk Uygur that is getting money out of politics one state at a time. We currently have 5 states that have managed to pass this initiative, and Washington State is in line to be the next state to join the resistance, but we need your help to pull this off!

I need you to contact your representative (email, letter, or call) and ask them to support the Wolf-PAC initiative! It will only take 2-3 minutes of your day, but those few minutes can change the course of history!

I don't need to explain how important this is. If we are able to get money out of politics, we can get single-payer healthcare, tuition-free public colleges and universities, combat climate change, and much more. One of the reasons we are not able to get the changes we need to move forward is because of the legal corruption of money in our politics.

Democrats Vote to Ban Super Delegates From Round 1 Voting!

Both political parties have a long way to go to bring back the trust of the American people. For the last 40 years both political parties have lied and cheated the public to push their own private agendas. After the surge of Progressive support within the Democratic Party, Democrats voted on a rule to ban Super Delegates from voting in the first round of a Presidential Primary.

My frustrations with this "small step", incrementalist methods in which the Democratic Party is famous for, is that it NEVER solves the problem. From 2008-2010 the Democrats created the Affordable Care Act instead of creating a Medicare for all Single Payer Healthcare program. They said it was a small step in the right direction, but of course, it did nothing to solve the issue and arguably made the situation worse. The Democrats continue to show they are not willing to drastically reform their corrupt structures and will attempt to find any way to prove to their supporters otherwise.

I support those within the Democratic Party who are trying to reform it. This is a small win that continues to shine light on the injustice of our political system. The revolution continues.
