The September adult program at Maryville Public Library will be a local history trivia event as part of our Historic Post Office Celebration. The celebration will be on Thursday, September 24, with the trivia beginning at 6:00pm in the library adult section.

The trivia event will be focused on local history. There will be 5 rounds with 5 questions each round. Prizes will be awarded to the top trivia teams. Teams of 1 to 3 persons are welcome to compete. Registration for the trivia event is appreciated. Adults can register for free at the library front desk or by calling (660) 582-5281. This program is intended for adults, but youth ages 13 and up are welcome to attend with an adult.

At September’s LEGO Club, you’ll divide your baseplate in half and build a BEFORE scene on one side and an AFTER scene on the other. OODLES OF NOODLES STORYTIME — NOW SEPTEMBER 8!
Our first storytime after the August break is getting a little extra time to simmer! 😄 Due to ongoing window construction, we’re moving our Oodles of Noodles storytime from September 1 to Tuesday, September 8. Congratulations to our 2026 Adult Summer Reading Program winners Julie Filips and Catherine Brown! Just for fun, 96 local adults read for prizes during the months of June and July with over half completing four books during the summer. Look for the names of our Kids Summer Reading Challenge completers in an upcoming issue of the Maryville Forum.

Date Correction: Area entrepreneurs are invited to join us the morning of Wednesday, August 26 at 8:15 a.m. for a presentation on local business support from Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce and Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation. Come by for free coffee, meet other local business owners, and learn about how local agencies can help you start or grow your business! This event will be held in the blue Nodaway County Services building behind Jimmy John's at 122 E. Lieber.

You did the reading, now enjoy the prize! Drawings for the adult prizes will be August 7 and prizes for birth through grade 12 must be picked up by August 15. Don't wait too long to claim your prize. Temporary library closures due to construction may occur, so we recommend picking it up as soon as possible.

Maryville Public Library staff are re-certifying in CPR! We have a few slots available to the public for anyone who would like to take this approximately four hour course with us and receive their certification. Registration is at the library desk with a $25 nonrefundable fee.
