This was such a great night with McNabb Center.

Our Blount County team recently welcomed the Stashed Away trailer for our Adolescent IOP, and we had a great turnout!

Provided by the Tennessee National Guard Counterdrug Task Force and coordinated by Be Aware Blount, this interactive educational experience recreates a teen’s bedroom and helps caregivers learn how to recognize items and hiding places that could be cause for concern.

One of the biggest takeaways? Look beyond the obvious. Concerning items can be concealed in places we might easily overlook, including hollowed-out books, everyday household objects, food containers, false-bottom containers and other hidden spaces.

Experiences like this give caregivers practical knowledge and tools to help them stay informed, aware and engaged with the young people in their lives.
