I recently had the opportunity to speak for the Maryville Kiwanis Club and provide an update on the current legislative session and the work being done in Nashville.
During the meeting, I shared updates regarding Tennessee’s approved $58 billion balanced budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, which emphasizes fiscal restraint while maintaining strong reserves. The budget includes funding for healthcare, social services, education at all levels, and local community grants supporting emergency and community services across the state.
I was also proud to discuss Tennessee’s continued success as our state ranks #1 in fiscal management and manufacturing while also being one of the fastest-growing states for startups and new residents. Additionally, the budget includes $339 million dedicated to public education at all levels.
Thank you again to the Maryville Kiwanis Club for the opportunity to speak and for all they continue to do to support our local communities and businesses across East Tennessee.
