On this , DAV encourages you to take a moment to reflect on the brave individuals who’ve been wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service. Without their bravery and resiliency, we wouldn’t have many of the freedoms that we practice today. Do you know any Purple Heart recipients? Last week, the Blount County Friends of the Library partnered with the DAR to send 160 paperback books to soldiers serving around the world through Operation Paperback.

We’re proud to help bring a little piece of home, a good story, and a moment of relaxation to those who serve. Thank you to our volunteers and our DAR partners for making this meaningful outreach possible!
