ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE:

In coordination with the Alcoa Highway relocation project, TDOT has notified the City of Alcoa that Concord Road will be closed at the intersection of Cusick Road for sanitary sewer infrastructure installation. The closure will start on November 10, 2025, and will remain closed until the completion of the sewer installation through the intersection. The roadway is estimated to be reopened sometime mid-January 2026. Please see attached detour map for the detour route.


The City of Alcoa advises motorists to allow additional travel time if using this route and to use extra caution when traveling through the area as workers will be present.

Effective Monday, September 29, 2025 the Binfield Rd bridge over the CSX Transportation Inc. railroad tracks will be closed. After completing a bridge evaluation report, TDOT has directed the BCHD to close both approaches to the Binfield Rd bridge due to structural deficiencies. BCHD and CSX Transportation Inc. are working together to determine the path forward for bridge repair or replacement.

Blount County, Tennessee - Peterson Lane at Shawn Drive is shut down due to an accident. Please find an alternate route if you must travel in that area. We will let you know when the road is reopened. on

IMPORTANT UPDATE SEPTEMBER 18, 2025:

• ​Raulston Road will be re-opened to traffic this morning around 10-11 a.m.
• At the same time, the section of Cochran Road behind the market will be closed to traffic. Essentially, we are going back to the Phase I traffic pattern.
• All signs, barricades, and message boards throughout the job will be changed to reflect this pattern.
• The anticipated length of time to widen Cochran behind the store will be 4-5 weeks.

The revised date for moving to Phase III traffic will now be mid-October. Also, when Phase III is implemented in mid-October, the intersection of Cochran Road and Raulston Road will become an All-Way STOP to better accommodate the detoured traffic from Carpenters Grade Road eastbound. This All-Way STOP condition will be removed when Phase III traffic is completed sometime in the next 6-8 months.
