This project brings Wampanoag art, language, culture, and environmental awareness together in a meaningful way, reminding us of the importance of protecting the places that continue to hold deep significance for our people and community.

Today we gathered in prayer and gratitude to break ground for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s new Early Childhood Center.

We opened by offering prayer over the land, for the plants and animals that may be disturbed, and for the children who will one day grow, learn, laugh, and be cared for here on our Tribal lands.

This is more than a new building. It is an investment in our youngest Tribal citizens, our families, and future generations. It is a place where our children will be surrounded by community, culture, care, and the strength of who we are as Mashpee Wampanoag people.

Kutâputush to everyone who helped bring this vision forward and to all who joined us for this meaningful day. Today was a powerful reminder that when we build for our children, we build for the future of our Tribe.

All tribal families are welcome to attend the annual Ancestors Day celebration on Saturday, September 26, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Old Indian Meeting House.

This is a day for Tribal Citizens and their families to spend with the ancestors and to remember, celebrate, and honor our family and friends who have passed on to the spirit world. Guests are encouraged to bring gifts to leave for their ancestors.

The Mashpee Wampanoag Youth Council invites the community to the Youth Sobriety Powwow on September 19 at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Powwow Grounds.

Join us for a full day of drums, dancing, community, and celebration.

Lunch and dinner breaks will be included, and day money will be available.

Upcoming Event: TERO Registration Drive

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe TERO Office is expanding its employment list to better connect Tribal members with upcoming job opportunities better and is holding a Registration Drive for upcoming projects, including the Childcare Center, Tribal Housing Community Center, and First Light Casino.

In addition to construction trades, TERO is also looking for Tribal members with experience or interest in non-construction work, including; Caterers and Cooks, Traditional Leaders, Office and Administrative workers, Receptionists, Secretaries, Customer Service and support roles, and Other professional and service-based positions.

Our hearts are heavy as we hold the Pocknett family and our whole Tribal community close during this difficult time.

We have lost a matriarch, a knowledge keeper, and someone who carried so much of who we are. She knew the plants, the herbs, the foods, and the medicines our people have used for thousands of years. She shared that knowledge in the way our people always have — through family, through stories, through laughter, through cooking, through everyday moments, and through love.

Many in Mashpee will remember her famous dandelion w**e, and so many other gifts she shared with our community.

As Mashpee Wampanoag people, we are all family. When one family grieves, we all feel it. Please keep the Pocknett family, her loved ones, and our entire Tribal community in your thoughts as we move through this hard time together.

We send love, strength, and comfort to all who are grieving.

🍽️ NRD Talking Circle Catering
Qualified caterers are invited to submit proposals to provide lunch, beverages, and dessert for approximately 75 people for an upcoming Talking Circle on Saturday, September 12.
Proposal deadline: Friday, August 21, 2026 at 4:00 PM

🔨 Deborah Bottles Way Home Repairs
Contractor bids are being accepted for home maintenance and repair work, including windows, window trim, clapboards, and roofing.
Bid deadline: Friday, August 7, 2026 at 4:30 PM

🏠 On-Call Emergency Contractor
The Tribe is also accepting bids from qualified construction contractors interested in providing on-call emergency repair and maintenance services for Tribal housing under a one-year contract.
