Our office is now accepting mailed absentee ballot request forms for the 2026 General Election! You can print a request form from our website using the link below. Prefer to have a form mailed to you? Follow the second link or call us at 641-421-3041. Completed forms should be sent to the auditor's office at 220 N Washington Ave, Mason City, IA 50401. Ballots will be mailed starting October 14 and requests must be received by October 19 at 5pm.

The City of Swaledale will hold a special election on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 to fill two positions on City Council. Eligible electors can now submit a request for an absentee ballot by mail. Request forms can be found on our website.

The candidate filing period is now open. Anyone interested in running for these council seats can find candidate packets and additional election information on our website. Nomination papers must be filed with the Auditor’s office by 5pm on August 14.
