The Rotary Cannonball needs our help! The Cannonball relies entirely on volunteers. Many of our current volunteers have been with the organization since it began in 2003 and are no longer able to commit the amount of time that they were able to years ago.

Without volunteers, the site is unable to remain open. Two volunteers are needed each open day, one to operate the depot & one to guide visitors touring the engine. Shifts are 1pm-4pm, with training provided.

By volunteering as little as one 4-hour period of your time on a Saturday or Sunday can make a huge impact on keeping the Rotary Cannonball 457 steam engine open to the public.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer during the May-October 2024 season, please contact this account or call/text our volunteer coordinator, Holly Ames at (641)903-1106.
