Nicole here~
Sometimes I get quiet on this page because the work itself gets so loud.
Lately, I have been focused on behind-the-scenes things: meetings, policies, outreach, volunteer coordination, planning, problem-solving, relationship rebuilding, and figuring out how to keep growing in a sustainable way without losing the heart of why The House exists in the first place.
This stage of the work isn’t always the loud, visible part — but it is the most important. Without this stage, we cannot sustain. We cannot be the best we can be. We’re trying to build something that lasts. Something people can trust. Something that can genuinely help stabilize people experiencing homelessness while also working collaboratively with the community around us.
From the very depth of my soul, please believe me when I tell you that all of the support, encouragement, donations, conversations, constructive feedback, and people willing to stand beside us through the messy middle of building this thing means more than you know.
Thank you doesn’t begin to be enough, but it’s all I’ve got right now. 🫶
