Happy Friday everyone!
Important reminder for any interested deer hunters!
First call - first serve leases begin Monday August 10th at 9am!
These are all leases available besides the November 15th - 30th ones.
Firearm season raffle tickets are available through August 23rd, with a drawing on August 24th.

We will get to each call as quickly as possible, and collect the required information to hold the lease you are interested in. Please be prompt about having which lease is your top pick, but have a backup in case it is already taken.

Food Safety Workshop at the Market! 🍓🥦

On Wednesday, July 15, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, join us at Marketplace on the Green (1995 Central Park Drive) for a presentation by Michigan District Produce Safety Technician Morgan Anderson on how to better use, safely prepare, and store your fresh fruits and vegetables.

It was a beautiful day to plant a pollinator garden!

Thanks to our small, but mighty volunteer force today for helping to plan, build, and plant all these native plants!

We are excited to add and improve to this garden in the future! Phase 1, complete ✅

Today the Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development voted to approve the regulation of six invasive plants.

Water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes) and water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes) will be added to the state's prohibited list with regulations going into effect this summer.

Callery pear (Pyrus calleryana), Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii), common buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) and glossy buckthorn (Frangula alnus) will be added to the restricted list with regulations going into effect on January 1, 2028.

If a species is prohibited or restricted in Michigan, it is unlawful to possess, introduce, import, sell or offer that species for sale as a live organism, except under certain circumstances.

Why plant native?

There are so many benefits to planting native plants and wildflowers. From supporting pollinators, to helping with soil erosion, they benefit our ecosystem in many ways. Especially when under threat from so many invasive species (Keep up with Mid-Michigan Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area)

Additionally, most wildflowers and native plants are low maitenance! Since they are native to the area, they easily adapt, including their water needs. Not only saving you time spent watering your plants, but also saving you on your water bill!

Pickup will be on May 22nd from 10am to 5pm, and May 23rd from 10am to 4pm.

Any extras we have will be available at this time as well for purchase in store. Cash, Card and Check will be options for payment.
