Mental Health Recovery Board Serving Warren and Clinton Counties

Mental Health Recovery Board Serving Warren and Clinton Counties MHRB is the board of mental health and addiction services serving Warren & Clinton County residents.

In 1969, state lawmakers passed legislation creating community mental health boards. Over the years, many boards received additional responsibilities, forming what are now known as alcoholism, drug addiction, and mental health services (ADAMHS) boards. Some of Ohio's larger counties have separate boards - one for mental health services and one for alcohol and drug addiction services. WHO WE ARE

M

ental Health Recovery Board Serving Warren & Clinton Counties (MHRB) is the local ADAMHS board that plans, funds, monitors and evaluates services and programs for residents with serious mental and emotional disorders and/or substance addictions. We also contract for prevention services in schools and the community, and for other wrap-around services such as housing, education, and peer support. Under Ohio law, MHRB is required to research community needs for mental health, alcohol and drug addiction services, then prioritize and plan strategies to meet them. To do that, Ohio law authorizes MHRB and other boards to contract with nonprofit agencies and other organizations that provide services and programs promoting recovery. Funding is also directed to some support programs for families and others affected by an individual's illness. Funding to pay contract agencies for services comes from federal and state subsidies, as well as grants and entitlements. A local levy also helps MHRB to meet needs within the community.

To do that, Ohio law authorizes MHRB and other boards to contract with nonprofit agencies and other organizations that provide services and programs promoting treatment and recovery. Funding is also directed to some support programs for families and others affected by an individual's illness.
