“PAYGO requires it.” “Money goes back to the Treasury.” “32 million helped.”

NONE of those talking points are true! And none of them changes the fundamental question: Should future disabled veterans receive less just so Congress can “claim” to reduce the deficit? We say no.

Congress can choose to help today’s veterans WITHOUT cutting benefits for future veterans.

Service members in harm’s way today should not have to watch Congress debate how much of their future benefits should be cut for budget offsets.

Veterans’ benefits are a cost of war, not a source of “savings.”

Honor their sacrifice. Don’t normalize cuts to VA benefits.

As we go through our lives and engage in volunteerism, we should stop on occasion and ask ourselves, "How would I like to be remembered?" and let the answer steer us in our work and inspire us in the fulfillment of our mission.

VFW Auxiliary National President Donna K. Mills and VFW Commander-in-Chief Cory L. Geisler have teamed up for the 2026-2027 Program Year with a joint special project: Operation Bring Them Home.

The purpose of this is to support the efforts of the DPAA, which works tirelessly to identify and repatriate the remains of troops who have, for too long, been listed as missing in action.

We hope VFW Auxiliary members embrace this special project this year. Thank you for all you do.
