Massapequa Park and the Massapequas; still the greatest place on Earth to live, raise a family and share the experience with neighbors that feel the same. Engine & Hose Co. 5 spent the evening inside Mansfield Park (Walker Park) with our community enjoying another fantastic fireworks display ringing in our country’s 250th Birthday. God bless America!

The North Merrick Fire Department hosted this year’s 6th Battalion Parade & Drill commemorating their 100th Year Anniversary protecting and serving that community. Members of Engine & Hose Co 5 along with our brothers and sisters from Rescue 3, the East End and West End as well as chiefs and commissioners celebrated their milestone by marching in this monumental parade. A special thanks to Ex-Captain Jimmy O’Connell (OC) for assuring our old lady 635 had the pleasure of riding in one last battalion parade before she retires!

Engine & Hose Co. #5 got after it today at our daytime HOT Drill, cross-training with Lt. Warnken from Tower Ladder Co. #2 on VEIS techniques.
Sharpened our game, made us more well-rounded firefighters, and reinforced the importance of a fast, well-placed hand-line and rock-solid communication to support our brothers & sisters operating inside.

This past Tuesday evening a NYC Based Fire Photography/ Videography group, “New York Rescue Cam” took the LIRR out to Massapequa and captured a few phenomenal images (to be posted at a later date), but was able to snag Engine 635 & 6315 responding to a reported odor of Natural Gas. It’s nice to have some photos and videos of our soon to be retired Engine before she turns her final wheel.

Here you will see Massapequa Fire Department Company 5- 635 & 6315 ...
