🚨Massena Town Planning Board Meeting Canceled 🚨

The Massena Town Planning Board meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026, and later rescheduled for Thursday, July 23, 2026, has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts among board members.

A new meeting date will be posted on the MassenaNY.gov website once it has been determined.

🐻 Looks like Massena has a visitor making the rounds lately 👀

With recent bear sightings in the area, the NYS DEC shared some important BearWise tips to help keep both residents and wildlife safe.

A few quick reminders:
• Secure garbage and recycling
• Bring in bird feeders when bears are active
• Don’t leave pet food outdoors
• Clean grills after use
• Never approach or feed bears

Black bears are naturally curious and usually avoid people — but easy food sources can keep them coming back. Let’s help keep our neighborhoods safe and keep bears wild where they belong. 🐾

There’s been some misinformation circulating on social media regarding data centers and actions being taken by the Town Board.

Please be advised that during tonight’s monthly Town Board meeting, there will be no vote and no public hearing regarding data centers.

The regular monthly meeting will take place this evening at 4:30 PM at the Massena Town Hall.

We encourage residents to rely on official Town of Massena communication channels for accurate updates and information.

🐾 Mark Your Calendars! 🐾

The Town of Massena’s FREE 2026 Town-Wide Rabies Clinic will take place on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at the Village Barn.

This drive-thru clinic is provided free of charge in partnership with the St. Lawrence County Department of Public Health to help keep our pets, families, and community safe and healthy.

Important reminders:
• Please limit to 4 pets per household at the Massena clinic only
• If you have more than four animals, please plan accordingly
• Please remain in your vehicle during the clinic
• Donations are accepted, but not required

Rabies vaccination protects not only your pets, but our entire community. We encourage all pet owners to take advantage of this convenient opportunity.

Items NOT accepted include:
• Tires & motor oil
• Electronics/TVs/computers
• Batteries
• Propane tanks
• Construction debris
• Commercial hazardous waste
…and other restricted materials.
