The last 2 days they have been working on the base for the padded turf that will be going in. Bryant and Dawn put in the border. Fingers crossed everything should be complete the end of next week!

Day 3 of the park playground install! All of the equipment is in and concrete is poured. Next up, the padded turf. Playground should be done by the end of next week!

Park update! Please notice that there are several holes at the playground. Please help us keep your kids safe and don't let them play at the east playground right now.

The install on the playground started happening today! We are so excited! We are beyond grateful to everyone that has made this possible! Thank you to Christopher Reeves Foundation, FNB, SW Iowa Community Grant for your large donations/ grants to help make this happen!

Regular Council Meeting Minutes, City Hall
Monday, August 3, 2026

Mayor Phil Przychodzin called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. Council members present: Kevin McCunn, Jackson Bissell, Adam McCunn, Doug Venteicher, and Micah Lee.

Employees: Dawn Stuhr, Bryant Griffen, and Justin Hockenberry arriving at 5:58 p.m.

Motion by K. McCunn to approve consent agenda. Second by D. Venteicher. All Ayes. Motion carried.

Shipping Containers as sheds was discussed in length. We are working on an ordinance. ALL shipping containers will need to have a building permit and be approved by City Council.

Motion by D. Venteicher to approve the street closure for Main St Bar & Grill street dance in August. Second by J. Bissell. All Ayes. Motion carried.

Motion by J. Bissell to table the shade for the small playground for more estimates. Second by A. McCunn. All Ayes. Motion carried.

Motion by K. McCunn to approve Resolution 26-10 Authorizing Fund Transfers. Second by J. Bissell. All Ayes. Motion carried.

Clerk will send nuisance letters.

Next regular council meeting will be September 14 at 5:45 p.m. at Massena City Hall.

Motion by D. Venteicher, second by J. Bissell to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. All Ayes. Motion carried.
