Local 251 has teamed up with Rego's Sporting Goods and the Massillon WHS Art Department for a special Veterans Day shirt fundraiser!

All proceeds from the shirt sales will be split evenly between The SAM Center and a scholarship for a Massillon City Schools WHS student.

The SAM Center is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to serving local veterans, active-duty service members, and their families through programs that offer food assistance, housing support, holiday programs, and other veteran resources.

The scholarship will be awarded to the WHS art student who created the shirt design, helping support their continued education and artistic pursuits.

Massillon Fire crews were given official approval to wear the shirts while on duty Nov 4-Nov 18!

🚨 CANTON FIREFIGHTER INJURED IN CRASH ON I-77

A Canton firefighter was injured late Wednesday night when a vehicle slammed into a fire department SUV at the scene of an earlier accident on Interstate 77.

The impact was significant, leaving extensive damage to the emergency vehicle.

📸 Pictured is the Canton Fire Department SUV involved in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released details about what happened and the injuries sustained.

Massillon resident Cody Wolfe’s family was able to escape a house fire due to his quick thinking and heroic efforts.

Cody’s actions that night earned him the 2026 Citizen Award at the Stark County Fire Prevention Breakfast and Awards. Well deserved, Cody!

At this morning’s 2026 Stark County Firefighter Awards and Fire Prevention Breakfast, Mayor S***z and Massillon Fire Chief Matt Heck were present to recognize Massillon resident Cody Wolfe for his heroic efforts on August 25, 2026.

During the night on August 25th, Cody’s home caught on fire. A large, uncontrolled fire was burning in the family’s kitchen, and extended into the hallway, cutting off Cody’s access to the back bedroom where his wife and child were located. Cody exited the house through the front door and ran around the exterior to the bedroom window, pulled his wife Angela and their child safely outside, and awaited the Massillon Fire Department.

For his heroic efforts, Cody was chosen for this year’s Citizen Award.
