The school year is beginning for most kids this week. Kids will be walking and riding bicycles to bus stops and school, some for the first time. Please slow down to help keep everyone safe.

Yesterday, members of the MBFD Junior Explorer's Program participated in the Firefighters Association of the State of New York Juniors day at the Suffolk Counry Fire Academy. The juniors got to experience many aspects of the fire academy that our members get to every year, such as search, car fires, technical rescue, forcible entry, as well as EMS training such as CPR. Our heartfelt thanks go out to , the instructors at the Academy, as well as our District and Chiefs for supporting the juniors program. Thank you to the Juniors for your hard work and dedication, as well as to our advisors for training these great young members. Our Juniors program is open to individuals 14-18 years of age whomreside in the Mastic Beach Fire District.

Our friends at Suffolk County Fire Rescue with some great info. Always be sure to close bedroom doors before going to bed, as well as testing snoke detectors monthly.

Neighbors- please heed the warning below! Our department, along with the entire Moriches Bay Marine Incident Response Team has been activated 3 separate times this afternoon alone for 3 separate drowning calls.
Please, ONLY go in the water in areas deemed safe and monitored by lifeguards! If no lifeguards are on duty, STAY OUT OFNTHE WATER!
