Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of equality.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It is a day to reflect on our nation’s history, celebrate progress, and recognize the importance of unity, inclusion, and service to our communities.

At Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad, we are proud to serve all members of our community with compassion, dignity, and respect. As we commemorate Juneteenth, we honor those who fought for freedom and those who continue working toward a brighter future for all.

🚑 The Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad responded to a motor vehicle collision involving multiple occupants.

The damage to the vehicles was significant, and multiple airbags deployed upon impact. Thankfully, everyone involved was able to walk away with only minor injuries.

While modern vehicle safety features helped protect those involved, this incident is a reminder that crashes can happen in an instant. Always wear your seatbelt, avoid distractions, and stay alert behind the wheel.

We’re grateful for the positive outcome and wish all those involved a quick recovery.

⚾🚑 Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad had a great time attending First Responders Night with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws!

It was nice to trade in patient care reports for baseball scorecards and enjoy a fun night with fellow first responders. To top it all off, MAFAS brought home the win in the EMS vs. Firefighter Tug of War Challenge! 💪🏆

Thank you to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws for hosting such a great event and showing appreciation for first responders throughout the community.

This Memorial Day, Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom. 🇺🇸

Today, we reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave everything in service to our nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
