Think you’ve got what it takes to build a scarecrow in record time? Or maybe you’re ready to prove your corn-husking skills?

In addition to our annual pizza-eating contest and donut-eating contest, we’ve got two more classic Matawan Day contests lined up for some good old-fashioned fun!

Join us at 1:00 PM for our Annual Scarecrow Relay Contest, hosted by the geekery. Gather your team and get ready to build, hustle and have some fun!

Then, at 1:15 PM join us at Burrows Mansion for our Annual Corn Shucking Contest, hosted by the Matawan Historical Society NJ. Think you can husk with the best of them? Come show us what you’ve got!

Bring your competitive spirit, cheer on the contestants and get ready for some seriously fun Matawan Day traditions! Matawan Day 2026, Saturday, October 3, from 12–5 PM Main Street Matawan. Join us for food, music, vendors, contests, the Kidz Corral, B**r & W**e Garden, entertainment and more.

A huge thank-you to Matawan Day’s Premier Sponsor, OceanFirst Bank, for its generous support!
