Yesterday dozens of law enforcement officers ran towards this heavily armed madman as he opened fire in Dallas. The brave officers neutralized this suspect with no loss of life to any member of the public. Their actions were heroic!

So many are quick to criticize law enforcement but rarely offer any praise. The media's coverage of the outstanding actions by law enforcement yesterday and most days is absent.

We are a unique group of men and women who protect our communities everyday. Don't forget the lives you touch and save by being in law enforcement. Here is to all our brothers and sisters who make this the greatest profession, thanks for all you do!

NENA - National Emergency Number Association

NENA applauds the introduction of the 911 Supporting Accurate Views of Emergency Services (911 SAVES) Act. This zero-cost measure that would direct the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to reclassify 9-1-1 telecommunicators and dispatchers in the federal government’s Standard Occupation Classification System.

The federal government currently classifies these occupations as “administrative/clerical” in nature, which is inaccurate and a disservice to the specialized, lifesaving work 9-1-1 professionals perform every day.

NENA and its members have long advocated for an accurate statistical classification for 9-1-1 professionals to support critical research into the mental and physical impacts of 9-1-1 jobs. We urge all members of Congress to support this non-partisan, cost-free measure that reflects the respect and support the American public has for its 9-1-1 professionals, who answer more than 240 million calls for help every year.

Studying for my 9-1-1 Dispatch and EMD certifications at Jersey Shore Safety Consultants was the best decision I made. The program is awesome and I feel that I'm better prepared to take on this job with the preparation and education I received from JSSC. I highly recommend both current 9-1-1 dispatchers as well as those coming on the job for the first time to join JSSC for the best training.
